Education

Danaea graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky, where she also had the opportunity to compete as a Division 1 collegiate gymnast. This experience, combined with her own personal injury challenges from gymnastics and witnessing the impact of injuries on her peers, was pivotal in inspiring her career in physical therapy. She later completed her Associate’s in Physical Therapy at Montgomery College, where she further honed her skills and knowledge in rehabilitative care.

Experience

After graduating in May of 2023, Danaea began working as a PTA in the Southern Maryland area. Her journey in the field started years earlier as a physical therapy technician, where she developed a strong foundation and desire to help others recover and thrive. Danaea’s unique background as a former Division 1 gymnast has given her a deep understanding of the physical demands of high-level athletic performance and injury prevention. This experience, along with her commitment to patient-centered care, has equipped her to help individuals reach their full potential.

Philosophy

Danaea’s approach to rehabilitation is rooted in her belief that everyone has the potential to achieve their goals, regardless of the challenges they may face. Her experience as an athlete, combined with her professional training, has shaped her individualized treatment strategies, focusing on functional movement, strength, and injury prevention. Danaea is passionate about using her expertise to guide patients through their recovery process, empowering them to return to the activities they love.

With a family background in the military, Danaea’s upbringing has meant that she moved every few years, gaining diverse perspectives and experiences along the way. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active and living a healthy lifestyle. In her free time, Danaea enjoys exploring the world through travel, continuing her fitness journey, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Her experience as a gymnast remains a key part of her life, and she is excited to continue serving the Southern Maryland community and helping others achieve their goals.
