Abby Wild, DPT
Staff Physical Therapist
Abby Wild is a physical therapist based in Southern Maryland (SOMD) who specializes in pelvic floor rehabilitation, as well as the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions. She treats people of all ages, and has experience treating diastasis recti, pregnancy prehabilitation and postpartum rehabilitation, pelvic pain, urinary urgency and frequency, bowel urgency and frequency, bowel and bladder incontinence, and constipation. Abby has a whole-person approach and uses a variety of modalities and interventions to help individuals reach their goals and feel their best.
Education
Abby attended Swarthmore College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, focusing on post-trauma stress reactions, and post-partum body image. She continued her educational journey at Northwestern Health Sciences University, where she completed a post-baccalaureate pre-health program, prior to earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota. Abby is currently pursuing her board certification in Women’s Health, and has taken Herman and Wallace, Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging, and PelviCon continuing education courses to this aim. She is currently taking courses to become a pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist and to learn more about prehabilitation and rehabilitation for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer.
Experience
Since graduating from the Universit of Minnesota with her DPT in 2023, Abby has worked in a variety of settings, including full-time work in a hospital-based outpatient clinic, and part-time in a private clinic, both in the Twin Cities metro area. She joined The Centers for Advanced Orthopedics (CAO) in 2025, and is excited to be part of such an excellent team in providing orthopedic care, as well as expanding access to pelvic floor PT in SOMD.
Philosophy
Abby prioritizes integrating all aspects of health in her treatment of the individual, including musculoskeletal factors, nutrition, stress, sleep, and prior healthcare related experiences. While rooted in evidence-based practice, listening to her patients allows Abby to know how to best serve them.
Abby recently returned to Leonardtown after a 7.5-year stint in Minnesota, and is currently enjoying the (relatively) warmer weather, spending time with her family, and going on walks with her family. She enjoys being active with running and Peloton, and trying new foods, whether that means going to a new restaurant or attempting a new recipe.
