Recovery Program

Whether you hurt yourself on the playing field, in a misstep as you go about your daily routine, or as the result of a fall, we can help. The CAO Sports Performance Center is rooted in physical therapy post-injury or post-surgery. Our team of sports performance coaches, physical therapists, and orthopaedic sports medicine surgeons have helped thousands of patients treat and recovery from injuries.

The CAO Sport Performance Center’s recovery program is designed to reduce recovery time after intense workouts and mitigate the likelihood of injury.

Rehabilitation from an injury follows a series of steps from the time of injury until you can resume all the activities that you love.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an invasive (superficial or deep) technique used to treat myofascial pain syndrome. This is a regional muscular pain condition. Myofascial pain syndrome has been recognized by medical practitioners as contributing or causing sensory, motor, and autonomic impairments. It is normally associated with palpable muscle “knots” or taut bands known as myofascial trigger points, which can be addressed with dry needling. Dry needling is a low risk, inexpensive intervention, and can only be performed by physical therapists who are certified by their state board.

IASTM

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is an intervention that is used by specially trained physical therapists to treat various soft tissue ailments.  It is a skill that includes the use of specialized tools on myofascia, muscles, tendons, and skin. This service is provided by our trained physical therapy team.
