Ava’s MCL Sprain Patient Story
Ava came to us following injuring her MCL, which is a stabilizing ligament in your knee, while playing on a trampoline. Due to her age and other factors, she was not a candidate for surgery. In Physical Therapy we worked on initially reducing pain and improving her tolerance for walking without crutches and a brace. As she healed, we progressed strengthening and running activities to allow her to return to her active lifestyle including getting right back into her field hockey season! Our Physical Therapist Gillian Kania, PT, DPT along with Physical Therapy Assistants Tracey Webster, PTA and Dee Kelly, PTA had the pleasure of helping Ava. Thanks for keeping us all entertained, Miss Ava!
